Paper Pumpkin A Little Smile Alternative Swish Technique

This is a really fast little card made with the A Little Smile Paper Pumpkin kit from June 2019 using the swish technique.

~Enjoy!

To make the background, I dragged Mint Macaron, Coastal Cabana and Crumb Cake ink pads across a piece of Whisper White cardstock. Hold the ink pad so that only the top edge hits the paper then quickly drag the pad across the paper back & forth in a diagonal. The trick here is not to press too hard, take a running start at your paper and do it really fast. I hand cut the banner from one of the envelope fronts. The sentiment is stamped in Soft Suede and a stamp from my stash. I added some sequins from the Heirloom Textures Sequins pack and topped the whole thing off with a bow made from Old Olive / Whisper White Thick Baker's Twine. The envelop is decorated with the Waterfront Stamp Set.

Paper Pumpkin A Little Smile Alternative Sailboats

Whatever do you do with all of the leftovers from the The A Little Smile Paper Pumpkin kit from June 2019? Make sailboats!

~Enjoy!

I had a ton of little leftover bits after using the back of the envelope flap for my sentiments and once I started playing with the shapes, some sailboats appeared, perfect fit for the theme of this kit! The background is Coastal Cabana embossed with the Subtle Embossing Folder. The "sea" is cut from one of the card fronts provided wit the kit layered over a piece of Whisper White. The boat hulls are hand cut from Old Olive & Coastal Cabana. The Sentiment is stamped with Old Olive and a stamp from my stash on a envelope flap cut down. I then added a bow made from the Silver & Whisper White Baker's Twine. The envelope is decorated with the Waterfront Stamp Set. So cute!

Paper Pumpkin A Little Smile Alternative Rachel Tessman

The wonderful Rachel Tessman created this card from the A Little Smile Paper Pumpkin kit from June 2019 & I just had to copy it!

~Enjoy!

The background was embossed Crumb Cake and the Subtle Embossing Folder. The focal uses a whole card from the kit & the fold is cleverly disguised behind the Linen Thread. I stamped my favorite birthday stamp from my stash in Old Olive. The envelope is decorated with the Waterfront Stamp Set.

Paper Pumpkin A Little Smile Alternative Beach

The A Little Smile Paper Pumpkin kit from June 2019 had so many great options for alternatives, the die cuts were really inspiring!

~Enjoy!

The background was embossed with the Subtle Embossing Folder and Whisper White and layered on a card base of Whisper White. I cut apart 2 of the Old Olive Envelopes and placed them side by side to make use of the cute "wood-grain" background. I cut a wavy piece of Crumb Cake cardstock to mimic a sand dune and sponged it lightly by pouncing a sponge on the cardstock with some Soft Suede to give a sandy effect. I did the same thing for the sentiment only with Old Olive. The sentiment is stamped with Soft Suede and a stamp from my stash. The whole thing is topped off with a double bow made from Linen Thread from the kit. The envelope is decorated with the Waterfront Stamp Set.

Paper Pumpkin A Little Smile Alternate Grunge

The A Little Smile Paper Pumpkin kit from June 2019 was really cute. I just happened to have a last minute cruise set up for December, so these little rays of sunshine worked out well for thank you cards for the staff!

~Enjoy!

The background was embossed with the Seaside Textures Embossing Folder and Whisper White and that is layered on a card base of Whisper White for added dimension. I embossed some Crumb Cake with the Subtle Embossing Folder and inked the edges with some Soft Suede and a sponge and also roughed up the edges with a kitchen knife. I inked up one of the medallions with Soft Suede also. The sentiment is stamped with Coastal Cabana and has the bottom bordered in some Wink of Stella. I also sponged some Coastal Cabana ink on the backs of 2 of the fronds. The whole thing is topped off with a double bow made from Linen Thread from the kit and some Sequins from the Heirloom Textures Sequins pack. The envelope is decorated with the Waterfront Stamp Set.

#simplestamping with Beautiful Bouquet for the 4th of July

The last project of the day was to whip up a quick 4th of July card with #simplestamping.

~Enjoy!

OK, I confess, I cannot do #simplestamping, I had to add a layer from the Celebrate You dies. This one uses Real Red, Balmy Blue and Blueberry Bushel. The splat is from Artisan Textures and the bursts are from Beautiful Bouquet. The small celebrate stamp on the envelope is from my stash and the whole things is topped off with White and retired Night of Navy Baker's Twine. Remember, the Whisper White baker's twine could easily be colored with the Night of Navy Blends Marker. Don't forget to go check out Tracy's card at Stuff-n-Thingz!

Lilypad Lake Sketch Challenge

This is project #3 from my Crafting with Tracy. It seems like each time we have one that just kills us for the day, this is that one!

~Enjoy!

We chose a sketch challenge from Global Design Project, and Daffodil Delight, Balmy Blue and Night of Navy as out color pallette. We also chose Lilypad Lake as the stamp set.

My card came together quite easily, while Tracy struggled with hers. Although to be fair, I cheated a little & moved my sentiment down on the card. I colored the sails with Stampin' Write Markers since it was such a small area to color. and all of the edges are roughed up with a scissor edge and the small squares and sentiment are lightly sponged with balmy blue. The sentiment is from my stash. The Baker's Twine also came from my retired Night of Navy twine, but the Whisper White baker's twine could easily be colored with the Night of Navy Blends Marker. Don't forget to go check out Tracy's card at Stuff-n-Thingz!

#simplestamping with Abstract Impressions

Here is another project from my Crafting with Tracy.

~Enjoy!

We always like to start the day with a simple creation and neither of us are great at simple stamping! We always need more layers & embellishments! More, more, more!

We chose Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green and Lovely Lipstick. Tracy was dying to use and create an item she had seen with the Beautiful Friendship stamp set, but since I did not own that one I chose to use Abstract Impressions, which I love, wow did the cards come out very different! You should see Tracy's beautiful card! Mine is a simple row of Daffodil flowers with a Granny Apple swish of grass and a Lipstick sentiment and butterfly. Nothing is ever finished off until there is a little rhinestone bling and wrapped with some Linen Thread & bow.

I was so inspired by Tracy's card I tried to replicate it with the stamps from Abstract Impressions, because her set was distINKtive, they still came out very different. But I love them both! I added some flower centers from Colorful Seasons and some pen strokes from Stampin' Write Markers. This time I added the Whisper White Baker's Twine to top it off. Don't forget to go check out Tracy's card at Stuff-n-Thingz!

Timeless Textures meets A Million & One

Crafting with Tracy days are always one of my favorite days! Here are the creations we made & the inspiration behind them!

~Enjoy!

The first card of the day was a color challenge with Pretty Peacock, Sahara Sand and Terracotta Tile and we also decided also on a sketch challenge from Paper Craft Crew.

We did not pick a stamp set for this challenge, so I chose Timeless Textures for the flourish, one of my all time favorites, and the little dots are from Waterfront. The sentiment is from the Million & One set. The Pretty Peacock oval cut from Layering Ovals Dies is embossing using the Tin Tile 3D Embossing Folder. Most of the edges are roughed up with my scissor edge and sponged with Sahara Sand. I added some rhinestones colored with Crumb Cake Blends Markers and the whole thing is tied up with a little Linen Thread and a bow. Don't forget to go check out Tracy's card at Stuff-n-Thingz!
