Side Panel Layouts 3 Ways

On our May digital play date with Tracy & Jane, we picked a layout and applied 3 different applications with the same color choices - I love how these turned out and bonus: quick & simple cards with a wow effect!

~Enjoy!

First up, a shout out to my favorite designer from whom this card was CASEd from Pinterest: Tammy Wilson. She makes the most beautiful cards! For this sample she used Label me bold. Tracy was the only one to have this stamp set, so the rest of us improvised.

We also picked a color challenge of Pretty Peacock, Rich Razzleberry and Mango Melody. For this first card, I used some diamond stamps from my stash (Grunge Rock would work for this too) and gave it a light spritzing with water to blur the pattern a little more. I mounted the stamped strip on Rich Razzleberry card stock and then on Whisper White that was embossed with the Subtle Embossing Folder. I stamped the sentiment from Itty Bitty Birthdays on Basic Black cardstock and VersaMark and heat embossed it with White Stampin' Emboss Powder. I trimmed the sentiment in Whisper White to give it the negative affect of the original card. I also added a little Silver Glimmer Paper, because, duh, birthday cards need a little pizzazz! I finished the whole thing off with some Whisper White 1/4" Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon and just a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

For this card I used the dots from the Timeless Textures Stamp Set and it is mounted on pretty Peacock and Whisper White that was embossed with the Parisian Flourish 3D Embossing Folder (I love this one!) The sentiment is form my stash with all of the same steps as above.

Lastly, one of my favorite quick & easy backgrounds is the swish! To make the background, I dragged each color across a piece of Whisper White cardstock. Hold the ink pad so that only the top edge hits the paper then quickly drag the pad across the paper back & forth in a diagonal. The trick here is not to press too hard, take a running start at your paper and do it really fast. For this one I used the the Tasteful Textiles 3D Embossing Folder and a little Whisper White Bakers Twine as my finishing touch.

4th of July - Flags

This last set was inspired by a previous card I did, but I no longer collect a vast amount of DSP, why should I when I can create my own? So I grabbed a 4x6 piece of Poppy Parade, Real Red, Balmy Blue, Night of Navy, Merry Merlot, Whisper White & Blueberry Bushel and added my own stamps! I trimmed off a piece about 1 inch & cut triangles from that scrapped & mixed and matched to make cute little banners! The sentiment is from a retired SU set.

~Enjoy!

A little creative genius at work - messy!

This one uses a Celebrate stamp from my stash, stamped repeatedly without reinking with Cherry Cobbler on Poppy Parade. Topping it off is Night of Navy Baker's Twine and Silver Mini Sequin Trim. The background is embossed with the Lucky Stars Embossing Folder.

Here I have stamped Night of Navy on Balmy Blue and the Crackle Background stamp. Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine is added to the Silver Mini Sequin Trim.

On Whisper White, I stamped the flower cluster from Beautiful Bouquet in Night of Navy.

This one again uses the flower cluster from Beautiful Bouquet stamped in Merry Merlot on Read Red.

To switch it up, I embossed this one on Night of Navy with White Embossing Powder and a star banner stamp from my collection. Real Red Baker's Twine tops this one off!

Pacific Point stamped on Whisper white with the dots from Timeless Textures added some whimsey to this one!

Playful Backgrounds stripes are stamped with Real Red on Whisper White.

Night of Navy stamped on Blueberry Bushel and the dots from Playful Backgrounds.

Timeless Textures meets A Million & One

Crafting with Tracy days are always one of my favorite days! Here are the creations we made & the inspiration behind them!

~Enjoy!

The first card of the day was a color challenge with Pretty Peacock, Sahara Sand and Terracotta Tile and we also decided also on a sketch challenge from Paper Craft Crew.

We did not pick a stamp set for this challenge, so I chose Timeless Textures for the flourish, one of my all time favorites, and the little dots are from Waterfront. The sentiment is from the Million & One set. The Pretty Peacock oval cut from Layering Ovals Dies is embossing using the Tin Tile 3D Embossing Folder. Most of the edges are roughed up with my scissor edge and sponged with Sahara Sand. I added some rhinestones colored with Crumb Cake Blends Markers and the whole thing is tied up with a little Linen Thread and a bow. Don't forget to go check out Tracy's card at Stuff-n-Thingz!

Mother's Day Teapots

For Mother's Day this year I created a few cards. The first one is from a super cute set called A Mother's Flair which had a really cute shoe, hat, purse and teapot. The second one is from Tea Together & the third is made with a Gorjuss girl.

~Enjoy!

I just love this little teapot from A Mother's Flair stamp set. I first taped off a section of white cardstock with removable tape & then went to town with a sponge and Berry Burst for the pink center strip to give it a mottled background. I then stamped the teapot in Memento Black and colored in the flower and leaves with Berry Burst & Pear Pizzazz Stampin' Write Markers. I then laid down a coating of Glossy Accents to give it some dimension. The frame is cut with a really old frame, it may have been QuicKutz. Then I added a strip of white paper embossed with the Layered Leaves Embossing Folder. The background paper is from the Petal Passion DSP paper pack. Topping it all off is some Berry Burst Seam Binding Ribbon. The envelope is stamped with Beautiful Bouquet.

This next card came out of a color challenge. I was done with the challenge but wanted to explore the colors a little more, so I came up with this one. The colors were Pool Party, Shaded Spruce and Flirty Flamingo. I knew I wanted to use the cute Teapot from Tea Together Stamps & Tea Time Dies and I thought the Pool Party would be sort of a patina look for it. I tried several versions of the teapot, but finally ended up on this version. The background paper is created with the Hello Cupcake Stamp Set. Once again, I added some Crumb Cake sponging to the background to antique the card a little more and of course a doily! The flowers are from the Paper Studio. Finishing it off are some flowers from my stash & a Braided Linen Trim bow. All of the Mothers out there loved the card!

This last card was made only for my mom. I had intended to make several but just ran out of time & the others were way easier to make duplicates. I love the Gorjuss girl line, they are all so super sweet. Unfortunately when I got this die, the Gorjuss line did not make the dies, only the stamps. The dress parts & background papers are from Die Cuts With A View and Stampin' Up! Soft Suede and Early Espresso. The flourish is from Timeless Textures. The Doily and Gold Glimmer Paper add a bit if antique & glitz! The leaves are cut from the Flourish Thinlits set and the flowers are from the Paper Studio.

Digital Retreat March #2

Project #2 for the day came from a color challenge using Pineapple Punch, Pumpkin Pie, Shaded Spruce. When Tracy first picked these out I was really struggling with this combo since Shaded Spruce is so rich and Pineapple Punch is almost neon. Once I decided to tone down the colors by making it more grunge it came together quickly!

We used Rooted in Nature and Timeless Textures as well as a few wood elements.

~Enjoy!

It always surprises us every time how we can come up with such completely different cards using the same items! Here is Tracy's card and don't forget to check out her blog!
