NC Demos Blog Hop March 2020

Welcome to the NC Demos Blog Hop for March 2020! Here are the guidelines:

It is almost time to say goodbye to the 2018-2020 In Colors, so I thought this month we could share our In Color Monochromatic Masterpieces using our favorite retiring In Color.

Your project can ONLY use one of the retiring In Colors. You MAY use Whisper White or Vanilla cardstock and Black ink (Foil colors are ok too!). ALL other ink and cardstock MUST be your single retiring In Color.

So when Tracy & I got together, we decided to make one for each color!

~Enjoy!

Here is the collection and you can get the details for each card below!

NC Demos Blog Hop March 2020 Lovely Lipstick

Here is the Lovely Lipstick card used for the NC Demos Blog Hop for March 2020, which challenged us to use our favorite retiring 2018-2020 In Colors, and make a monochromatic masterpiece. This one turned out to be one of my favorites when Tracy & I got together to work on the challenge and made all 5.

~Enjoy!

We had a little pinspiration for this one. I fussy cut the flowers from the Flowering Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper and inked up the flowers with a sponge dauber using Lovely Lipstick the leaves are lightly colored with Soft Sea Foam (oops, broke the rules again!). The background paper is from the 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper sampler and layered over a Whisper White card base. The bow was made with the 1/4" Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon and a knot of Whisper White Polka Dot Tuelle. The sentiment is stamped with Lovely Lipstick using the Very Versailles Stamp Set and cut with Stitched So Sweetly Dies. The envelope is stamped with the Tasteful Textures Stamp Set.

NC Demos Blog Hop March 2020 Blueberry Bushel

Blueberry Bushel is one of my favorite colors, I will be sad to see if go as part of the retiring 2018-2020 In-Colors. This month's NC Demos Blog Hop for March 2020 is dedicated to making a monochromatic card using our favorite retiring In-Color. Tracy & I did ours together, check hers out!

~Enjoy!

This card was inspired by a few things: a sketch challenge, use DSP & the Blog Hop challenge. I absolutely LOVE all of the paper & the cards I have made with the See A Silhouette Designer Series Paper. After I got done with this Tracy said it may have broken the monochromatic rules, but I think it still turned out really pretty!

The background is the front and back of one of the sheets from the See A Silhouette Designer Series Paper layered on a card base of Whisper White. It is topped off with a bow made from the Silver 3/8" Metallic-Edge Ribbon and  know of Whisper White Polka Dot Tuelle. The sentiment is stamped with Blueberry Bushel and Lilypad Lake Stamp Set. It is then cut with the Lakeside Dies layered on Blueberry Bushel.

For the card, I took the Delicate Lace Dies & cut the delicate flourish from a scrap, then laid it on the envelope & sponged Blueberry Bushel through the die. Even though it is floraly, it still give the same effect as the bold white lines of the card. Check out the whole collection!

NC Demos Blog Hop March 2020 Grapefruit Grove

This is the third item I created for the NC Demos Blog Hop for March 2020 using the retiring In-Color of Grapefruit Grove. Tracy & I had a virtual play date since she is in Washington state & I am in North Carolina, here is her card.

~Enjoy!

I CASEd another card I had made recently for this one at the time not knowing that I could use silver. The background paper and strip on the left is from Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper. As I am posting this & reviewing the colors in the suite, I not surprised at why my card colors do not look correct, it is because the colors in the suite are Calypso Coral & Petal Pink! oh well, moving forward....

The border dies are half of the teardrop dies from the Lily Pad Dies cut with Whisper White. They are sitting under a border of Grapefruit Grove embossed with the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder. The Flourish & springs are cut with the Flourish Dies. The sentiment is stamped with Grapefruit Grove using the Woven Heirlooms Stamp Set. The bird is fussy cut from the Bird Ballad DSP & the whole thing is topped off with a double bow made from the Whisper White 1/4" Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon. See all of the cards here!

NC Demos Blog Hop March 2020 Call Me Clover

Welcome to the NC Demos Blog Hop for March 2020! It is almost time to say goodbye to the 2018-2020 In Colors, so this month's blog hop is focused on creating a Monochromatic Masterpiece using our favorite retiring In Color. Call me Clover is not may favorite in-color, but Tracy & I  decided to make one for each color! Check out Tracy's card! I actually made 2 with Call Me Clover.

~Enjoy!

I just loved artwork in the Grandma's House Stamp Set.  I decided to keep this one super simple! I stamped a frame with the Swirly Frames Stamp Set and added a row of flowers using the Grandma's House Stamp Set. The sentiment is stamped with the Positive Thoughts Stamp Set. Add a little coordinating background DSP and tie the whole thing up with some Whisper White Baker's Twine & there you have it a super cute, super simple Thinking of you card!

I wanted to try out the Sponge Brayer using the gradient technique. I got a little pinspiration for the layout. I sponged Call me Clover over the Flower Foils DSP. I tore the edges of the DSP to add some interest & layered that over Whisper White embossed with the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder and then again over a Call Me Clover card base. The sentiment is stamped with the Wonderful Moments Stamp Set and Sweetly Swirled Stamp Set. It is then cut with the Stitched Nested Labels Dies and some Whisper White Flax Ribbon.

NC Demos Blog Hop March 2020 Pineapple Punch

Welcome to the NC Demos Blog Hop for March 2020! Here are the guidelines:

It is almost time to say goodbye to the 2018-2020 In Colors, so I thought this month we could share our In Color Monochromatic Masterpieces using our favorite retiring In Color.

Your project can ONLY use one of the retiring In Colors. You MAY use Whisper White or Vanilla cardstock and Black ink (Foil colors are ok too!). ALL other ink and cardstock MUST be your single retiring In Color.

So when Tracy & I got together, we decided to make one for each color, see the collection!

~Enjoy!

We used a little inspiration for this background paper card. I tore the edges of the Flowering Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper and inked up the flowers with a sponge dauber. For the larger flowers I gave it a couple of coats to make them darker & the smaller flowers only a light tap to keep them lighter to give the background some more interest. I also crunched up the paper, but did not like the result, so instead I ran it through my embossing machine with the Stone 3D Embossing Folder.

A strip of Pineapple Punch was embossed with the Corrugated Embossing Folder and all tied up with a piece of Whisper White Baker's Twine. The sentiment is stamped with Memento Black Ink and the Wonderful Moments Stamp Set. I ran the sentiment though my dies cut machine with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies using the second largest die, then turning it 90 degrees & cutting it again.

The envelope is stamped with the flowers from the Sweetly Swirled Stamp Set.

No Matter the Weather Paper Pumpkin Alternative Boots & Flowers

The March 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit, No Matter the Weather, Is so cute and the artwork is amazing AND it came with a whole set of free stamps! Happy Anniversary Paper Pumpkin!

~Enjoy!

The background for this card front was so gloomy, and after the suggested stamps of adding more grey clouds was too much gloom for me, so I decided to brighten it up! I cut off the card base & added it a piece if A2 sized Smokey Slate. I added the water rain drops stamped in Smokey Slate as well. I matted the card front on white & added a border of dies cut from the Be Mine Stitched Heart Framelits and a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper. The artwork is all popped up and the bow is a piece of retired Silver & White Bakers Twine. This is definitely more cheery!

No Matter the Weather Paper Pumpkin Alternative Bunny

The March 2020 No Matter the Weather Paper Pumpkin kit had such cute artwork in it, although I was not a  huge fan of the boots! Take a peek at what I did with them below!

~Enjoy!

I noticed that the polka dot boots that came with the No Matter the Weather Paper Pumpkin kit matched the Cajun Craze polka dots from the the Regals 6x6 Designer Series Paper pack. I cut down the card front a little on the top & bottom to better center it on an A2 card base. I cut out the center of the card front using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies and popped up the center. I layered the whole thing on white. I flipped over the blue banner and stamped with with Cajun Craze & an Easter wish from my stock. Like I said, I did not really care for the boots, so I turned them into planter pots. I cut off the bottom part of the boot & then layered a little white to match the white border the rest of the artwork had.  The ribbon is from the April 2015 Love You a Lot Paper Pumpkin kit.

No Matter the Weather Paper Pumpkin Alternative Boots

The No Matter the Weather Paper Pumpkin kit, from March 2020 was so easy to use and make alternatives! I really do not even remember putting this card together while I was yacking away on the phone with my mom.

~Enjoy!

I started with a Whisper White card base & started to layer leftover pieces from the envelope lines. I had half of the cloudy sky leftover from the card front with the girl & umbrella & I layered the boots over the bottom to hide part of her sleeve that still remained. Everything is popped up and the sentiment is stamped with Crushed Curry. Topping it off is some sheer ribbon from my stock. This is so bright & cheery & will hopefully brighten someones day!

No Matter the Weather Paper Pumpkin Alternative Raincoat

The March 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit, No Matter the Weather, was so easy to use and make alternatives out of. Maybe it was just a matter of talking on the phone to my mother (which is usually an hour) and I was just playing with cards & not over thinking them!

~Enjoy!

This card uses up the Cajun Craze strip from the Regals 6x6 Designer Series Paper and matches perfectly with the girls raincoat. It also looks nice with the Petal Pink from envelope liner! I cut the card front in half and chose to only focus on the girl. I cut strips of white from the Be Mine Stitched Heart Framelits and bordered the image.  The sentiment is from Bella & Friends. The whole thing is topped off with the 3/16" Braided Linen Trim and some Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon and sits on a Whisper White card base. It is so bright & cheery!
