After taking a year to finish moving, who are we kidding - I am still not done, but I am finally finding some time to get back to my blog! I have a small window of time to participate in my first ever Blog Hop. Since moving to North Carolina I have been generously welcomed by a fantastic group called NC Stampin' Up Demos and I have been invited to join their hop for July! So welcome to the NC Demos Blog Hop!
So, here is the challenge for the July Blog Hop:
- Find a project you love and that inspires you. It can be a card, decor item, 3D item, tag, gift bag. Whatever you like!
- Make the project EXACTLY like it is.
- Then make a second project inspired by your CASEed project. Make it your own. Change the paper, stamp set, colors, embellishments etc....
Ok, one small problem - the one I love I did not have the stamp set for - so I am going to show you my inspiration always - my good friend Tracy Marie Lewis over at Stuff-n-Thingz. She made this beautiful card using the Beautiful Friendship Stamp Set, simply stunning!!! She is focusing on #simplestamping and I think she nailed it with this card!
For my set, I love the Abstract Impressions set and thought I could replicate the pattern of the flowers with it, one small problem, The Beautiful Friendship Stamp Set is a distINKtive set so the colors appear very soft, where the Abstract Impressions set is full on color! But I love how it came out and I only had to punch a circle as a mask, so not too labor intensive! The edges are scuffed up with a scissor edge and the colors for this card are Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight and Lovely Lipstick.
And here is a little bonus project from this month's Paper Pumpkin (On My Mind). This is made with the medallion and shell stamps. Mossy Meadow, So Saffron, Crushed Curry, Melon Mabo and Flirty Flamingo. A few iridescent sequins to add a little sparkle!
Now go check out these other amazing projects on Sunday at 8pm EST!!!
